Joy in the Unknown

There is joy in the unknown while we contemplate summer plans and tend to our gardens. We anticipate outcomes and long for our first fruits. Sometimes, we are dismayed when our plans don’t go the way we created and are lost for understanding. Maybe you’re like me and you think, “man, I am ready right now to experience my first fruit and don’t want to wait, but I want it right now. “ If this resonates with you take time and check out my interview with Ruth Chou Simons and her new book Now and Not Yet. Ruth’s book is about pressing in when you’re waiting, wanting, and restless for more.

In this issue of ripen you will find some great ideas for patio container gardens and how you can use your small garden space for garden ministry and fun with family and friends. Also, we have some tips on gardening with children and using your garden to nourish your children in their faith and instill the generational blessing of gardening.

I pray your summer is fruitful and you are enjoying your garden or others. As always continue to ripen and share your gardening story with us. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need prayer or have a gardening question.
