This year brought a crazy drop in temperatures here in Tennessee. Unfortunately, it also brought with it a lot of damage to our plants. The beautiful Ivy we’ve had for decades has left a cloud of brown everywhere we look. It’s pretty devastating to see it now. The other day I saw a sign of life on one of the trees and thought about how nothing ever stays the same and we are constantly growing spiritually in our lives just as these plants are now starting to show their green. Some will have to be pulled and place new plants in their place just like we have to be pruned in our lives from time to time to allow growth.
If you look at the top photo you can see the left is how its looked-for years and the right is what the drop in temperatures did to it. Now time to rebuild. Our grandson Riley brought Karis over and they built us a new arch. I got this on Amazon. The other one had too much storm damage and we also lost another one in the back. It was a fun time having them put the arch together and they even stayed for dinner! Were so blessed to have our grandchildren live so close by and be able to spend time together.
I have a lot going on with all the damage and a lot of piles of twigs and branches needed removal. I think I’ll create some wreaths from some of the branches.
I’ve been preparing the beds to add vegetables in a few weeks and really looking forward to it. I love all the colors the flowers, herbs and veggies bring so much life to the garden.
Liam was so fun he just jumped right in like he’d planted for years. Not sure he understood it all, but he had fun for sure.
It’s time to make memories with your children and and/or grandchildren and make the garden grow. Plant a butterfly garden and watch nature at its best!

I am sorry about all the damage but I know you will turn it back into something beautiful. Love the arch and pictures. Your right there is something very special about gardening with grandchildren.
All the best!
